Patrick McVeigh, our President & Chief Investment Officer, has helped shape the evolution of sustainable investing from the earliest days of his career. In a recent conversation with Barron’s Advisor, he reflects on what long-term, values-driven investing looks like today—and how Reynders, McVeigh Capital Management, now celebrating its 20th anniversary, continues to focus on aligning portfolios with the health of communities, workers, and the environment amid a charged political climate.

“We all want hope in our life, and part of what we offer is this idea that your portfolio can actually make a difference in the world,” McVeigh says. “So, we’re seeing people taking action who previously might have been happy to sit on the sideline and let the government take care of things.”

Patrick expands on what has worked consistently in the discipline of sustainable investing. He explains why pairing financial analysis with qualitative factors allows our team to judge durability and risk so we can provide pathways to sustainable growth.
